What exactly is the Sweetcorn Festival?
The Urbana Sweetcorn Festival is THE largest Champaign County festival! Over 50,000 community members come out to enjoy hot buttery sweetcorn and finish up the summer with a bang! The festival offers tons of musical entertainment from local bands, to national acts.

When is the Sweetcorn Festival and what hours can I attend?
August 24th from 5pm – 11pm
August 25th from 11am – 11pm

What types of food can I expect?
Each year is different in the selection of food vendors, but what is the same year to year is the variety that is offered. You can come out to grab BBQ, Greek, ice creams, funnel cakes, Thai and so much more. Check our vendor page to see exactly what you will see for this year!

Where is the event?
Downtown Urbana! Main Street will be closed from Race to Vine and Race/Broadway will be closed as well. All streets will be programmed with food, fun and music!

Where do I send my general Inquiries?
You can always call the UBA office at 217-344-3872, or e-mail anyone on the staff about your specific concern.

What is the policy if it rains?
There is no Rain Date for the festival, so if it’s drizzling, come dance in the streets with us, we will still be there! However, if there is serious weather check back to our Sweetcorn page for updates and information about cancellations.

How much will the tickets cost?
Tickets, what tickets? The festival is absolutely FREE for everyone! You can come out to enjoy all the family activities and musical entertainment for nothing! Now if you want to purchase food/drinks you’ll have to get $1/ticket from the ticket tents at the festival. And you’ll most certainly want to check out the awesome foods!

Where can I get a map and Festival schedule?
We update the website as soon as we know anything about the entertainment, so always check that page for festival schedules! Then if you are looking for a map, they will be distributed in The News-Gazette Thursday before the event, as well as at all the ticket booths for pick-up!

Where should I park?

Can I bring my pets?
As much as we do love dogs/cats/pets, we love our festival attendees more, and we need to keep everyone safe and sound, so please don’t bring pets. We will have to ask you to leave if you do bring a pet.

Can I bring a cooler into Festival grounds?
The festival has tons of food/drink and water for reasonable prices! You don’t have any need to bring a cooler into the festival, and it is actually prohibited. Also keep in mind, if you check out a restaurant/bar downtown during the festival you must stay on that restaurants/bar location with your adult beverages.

Can I bring a camera into the Festival?
Absolutely! If you snap some great photos at the Festival, share them on our Facebook – we might even give some prizes away to the sweet photos we see!

What emergency assistance will be available on site?
Police, fire officials and EMTs will be on-site for medical treatment and emergency transportation, if needed. Assistance will be located on Water St. by the portable toilets stations.

Is there a lost and found location?
If you happen to lose anything at the festival, head to your nearest ticket tent! They will be able to connect with all other ticket tents and hopefully help you find what you have lost!

Will Festival merchandise be available for purchase?
We are currently working on that now, if there is something specific you would like to see, let us know on our Facebook page, or send us a comment and we can look into offering it!

How can I become a vendor at the Festival?
We have spaces available for vending at the festival, however they go fast! So get your application and send it in as soon as possible.

If I am coming from out of town, where can I stay?
Eastland Suites Hotel and Conference Center offers a sweet-deal to party at the festival and have a ride to and from the hotel for an awesome deal. For more information on this deal, give us a call!

I like to ride my bike, where can I park it?
We are always looking to make the festival more environmentally friendly and we love our neighbors who bike to the festival. Head to the parking garage where you can find many bike stations! When you get there, head to the Champaign County Bike Tent and grab yourself a FREE cornbuck as a thank you for riding your bike!
