The largest festival in Champaign County is put on right here in downtown Urbana! The 2011 36th Urbana Sweetcorn Festival took place on August 26th and 27th in the heart of downtown and proudly served up hot, buttery ILLINOIS sweetcorn!  Each year, the festivities kick off on Friday at 5:00 pm and will last until 11:00 pm that night as well as all day Saturday from 11:00 am until 11:00pm. Urbana comes alive during the always amazing Urbana Sweetcorn Festival. Now in it’s mid-thirties, you’d think a mid-life crisis would be in order, but Sweetcorn is blasting past those woes, taking on greener initiatives, and bringing free music and entertainment to the community.
